I have performed following two types of software testing in my career:
Manual Testing: In manual testing, I have done testing of software products by hand. In my career, I have performed manual testing of Mobile Apps. In this, once the development of mobile app gets completed, then I start testing the app and finds bugs in it. Bug is something when mobile app is not performing in desired manner. In manual testing, I also checks crashes in app so that mobile app should not crash when it will be used by end user. In manual testing, I verify that all the requirements mentioned by client is fulfilled or not and app is running smooth on multiple mobile devices or not.
Automation Testing: In Automation Testing, I have written the code which test the mobile apps. In this I don't perform software testing by hand. Testing of software is performed by code. I have used selenium tool to write code which performs testing. In Automation Testing, I run several scripts which test different modules of the software one by one and generates the results which tells which test cases were passed and which got failed. So Automation Testing basically automates the testing process and reduces the human resource.
