Difference
Lytic phase:
•   Viral DNA destroys host DNA.
•   The viral DNA is replicated to produces progeny phages.
•   Causes viral infection.
Lysogenic Cycle:
•   Viral DNA incorporates with host DNA and does not kill the cell.
•   Progeny phage does not produce.
•   Does not cause a viral infection.

                   A temperate phage has fewer surviving lysogens in the center than the periphery. The higher density indicates to more lysogenic infections. As the phage diffuse and the fall down of concentration leads to more lytic infections.
