Briefly discuss how ICMP traffic may be able to survive an asymmetrical routing situation where TCP traffic would fail.

Asymmetrical routing happens when trffic between two nodes happen through
different paths in each direction.This type of phenomenon may not create
any problem in case of stateless protocols like ICMP or UDP where no session
information about communicating partners is stored but in case of stateful
protocols like TCP , it creates problem as session information is maintained
between communicating partners.In TCP ack is expected for the receipt from the
receiver but if packet goes in one path and the ack comes back through different path
then the session or state information won't be matching and will create problems.
