Information System is a network of hardware and software which intentionally work to make life easy and adorable!

I frequently use one of the most popular Information System “Cab Booking Application”.

This system shows us cabs which are nearby us. We can book them or schedule for later. We have to enter pickup and drop location. We can also see estimation of upcoming ride. After booking is confirmed, you get driver details and arrival time. While ride you have SOS button for safety. After ride is complete, your payment will be deducted from wallet or you can pay online/cash. After that, you can provide feedback of ride/driver.

Interface/Display of this app is quite simple! It has map shown throughout the screen and there is menu button which pops up menus. Bottom of screen has buttons for booking rides. And this UI is anyways good.

But I face one real life problem while using this Information System. Almost every other day, I have to visit my Grandpa’s place. His address is same every time. But whenever I book a ride, I have to open search bar for pickup location, then search bar for drop location and then book a ride!!

I feel, most of the users of such Information Systems are very frequent users. They use it again and again. So there must be some display feature which will allow us to directly mock our previous ride so that time to perform booking will be minimized and user will find this application handy.

Deficiency: Cab booking application does not have any display feature which will enable us to book frequent rides quickly.

Proposed Change:

  • On Home screen of this application, there must be one floating button which will enable us to choose frequent rides.
  • When we click this button, it should show list of most frequent rides.
  • If we select one of them, every detail on that ride should be copied and automatically filled on home screen.
  • Then only task of user is to just confirm the booking, press confirm to book it and ride with a smile :)

Hope this helps you.

All The Best! :)
