1) The gel contains the sequence of newly synthesised strand of DNA. In this gel, the 5' end is found at bottom of gel where as 3' end is found at top of gel because in gel the shorter fragments run faster and larger fragment run slower. The synthesis of DNA occurs from 5' end.

DNA sequence in gel:

5' TCAGCGTCACTAACGT 3'

5' GTA CTC CAC GGA TGA 3'

The mRNA synthesised from DNA will have following sequence.

5' GUA CUC CAC GGA UGA 3'

The amino acid is found from the mRNA codon table :
