Answer #1

Phylogenetic tree is a diagranatic representation of evolutionary relationships among different species from the limited set of data available. The construction of phylogenitic tree is simple yet intimidating process because of homoplasy, rapid diversification and introgression. Researchers try to solve this problem and also to ensure that their phylogenetic trees are robust by adopting either maximum parsimony method or maximum likelihood method. In maximum parsimony method, the researcher tries to create phylogenetic tree that requires the least evolutionary change. In maximum likelihood method, statistical approach is used to infer the relationships between different species in phylogenetic tree.
