Explain a Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC). Design a PDLC of your own and briefly explain it.
The project delivery life cycle or project management life cycle is the cyclic movement and management of the project to ensure that the activities are being conducted as per the regular and continuous stagea of the project. The project delivery life cycle is broken down into four phases which are: initiation, planning, execution, and closure. These phases would help in making the path to make your project begin and end successfully.
For example, a construction project is designed to complete and deliver a certain construction project of a building. Now, this project would have four phases for the effective delivery of the project:
1. Initiation: This is the first phase of the project management and thus it would include the starting of the project. The relevant stakeholders, project charter, work breakdown structure and other important information would be exchanged and communicated to make sure the right Beginning could be given to this construction project for the construction ot the building.
2. Planning: After the Initiation has been done, the next phase is the Planning phase for further processing. The objectives, standards, tasks, duties, roles, goals and every important work structure is assigned, delegated and everything is planned accordingly regarding how this construction project would work with the utmost and effective plan for the development of the building.
3. Execution: All the work would be done under this phase. The construction activity of the building would be taken out in this area where the activities would be executed as per the set standards and plans to make sure the project is achieving the right direction and flow for the working and development of the same building as per the client's requests.
4. Closure: Finally, the building would be constructed. The goals would be achieved. The project has now achieved all the requirements and demands set by the client. All the further payment and dues would be fulfilled and a closure would then be given to all the participants of the project for being a part ot this project and for their effective deliver of efforts and work done.
