Answer #1

Transient Rrsponse :

A transient response of a circuit is a temporary change in the way that it behaves due to an external excitation, that will disappear with time.

In other words, after applying an input to the control system, output takes certain time to reach steady state. The output will be in transient state till it goes to a steady state i.e. a final constant value. Therefore, the response of the system during the transient state is known as transient response.

Settling Time:

It is the time required for the response to reach the steady state and stay within the specified tolerance bands around the final value.

In general, the tolerance bands are 2% and 5%.

The settling time is denoted by t_s .

For 5% t_s=\frac{3}{\delta \omega_n}=3\tau

For 2% t_s=\frac{4}{\delta \omega_n}=4\tau

\delta Is the damping factor.

\omega_n Is the natural frequency of osc

Stability:

A system is said to be stable, if its output is under control. Otherwise, it is said to be unstable.

Stability can be defined as the ability of the output of a system to be under control even when any disturbance is applied to the system i.e. it's ability to remain stable even when the system is subjected to sudden disturbance.

More specifically, we can say, that stability allows the system to reach the steady-state and remain in that state for that particular input even after variation in the parameters of the system.
