DArwin was influenced by thomas malthus theory on population principles.Darwin had a parallel thinking in the concept of individual struggle in natural selection.
Malthus believed that there is constant competition occur due to starvation in humans, this restrict geometric growth of population. He discussed all the aspects in his book, "Essay on the Principle of Population. He believed that animals which are less fit for their environment would tend to die off and called this struggle for existence. Darwin agreed with Malthus on this concept (the struggle of individuals,) .

	. In 1938 , the Industrial Revolution was under way in england . This revolution made rich only the owners of production, not the workers. There were increasingly crowded cities, struggled of ordinary people for their daily existence. It was that year that Darwin, back from his voyage on the Beagle. He was trying to understand the forces involved in  the origin of new species. According to Malthus, population increases in size , the inevitable shortfall of food in the face of spiraling population growth and responsible for struggle for existence. This idea of malthus influenced Darwin's thinking about the struggles for survival . But later he came to realize that, as in human society, populations bred beyond their means, leaving survivors and losers in the effort to exist.
