Many great novels and classic movies have primates as main characters: King Kong, Planet of the Apes, etc. Analyze how apes are depicted in popular culture and compare those depictions to what you actually know to be true about the behavior of apes.
In movies we have seen that apes are represented as a animal having high IQ but that level of IQ is not found in apes. Still there are exceptions - there is an ape name "sultan" on which many experiments have been done to explain some theories but the level of behaviour, aggression, emotional trauma is depicted in movies is still impossible in todays world.
While i do believe that there are some emotional behaviour that apes show, there is some aggression but not that level. We should know the difference of the behaviors that shown in movies while those which we really know because if we don't know the difference then we start believing in the myths.
Thank you
