Answer #1

Wind shear generally takes place because of the changing speed as well as the direction of the prevailing wind, at a particular distance. A significant amount of wind shear usually occurs within the earth's atmosphere. It is most commonly caused through microbursts from thunderstorms, temperature inversions, and surface obstructions. There are two types of wind shear patterns: horizontal and vertical.Wind shear can occur at high or low altitude. Shear stress, force tending to cause deformation of a material by slippage along a plane or planes parallel to the imposed stress. The resultant shear is of great importance in nature, being intimately related to the downslope movement of earth materials and to earthquakes.
