When chloroplasts are crushed and a suspension is made, they do not produce G3P even with enough CO2 and H2O. Explain in detail please.

AT C . Answer: G3P ( Glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate) is produced during Calvin cycle or C cycle of dark reaction in plant. Dark reaction of photosynthesis takes place in stroma portion of the chloroplast. (Stroma is the colourless fluid surrounding the grana within the chloroplast). Ir dark reaction CO₂ is converted into carbohydrate with the help of assimilatory power lie., NADPH+H* & ATP which are produced during right reaction of photosynthesis. . Light reaction takes place in the grana portion of the protoplast. Dor light reaction through photolysis and Electron Transport, assimilatory power (NADPH+HT & ATP) is produced which are used in carbon assimilation / carbon fiscation in dark reaction. Part of the light reaction is to make proton motive force i.e., a proton gradient across the membrane This proton motive force is used to make ATP .. Since, the chloroplast is smashed, the membrane, little compartments, grana all are broken. Due to broken membrane, you can't make gradient , across the membrane. This protons will diffuse freely without ATP being synthesized Without APP or assimilatory power Calvia cycle of dark reaction can't take place and so, G3P will not be produced irrespective of the fact that there's enough co, and H₂O present. 034 lo CA
