This experiment indicates that bird donot use external magnet attached to their head.

As if it is true than bird should reach to thier destination even in windy or cloudy night as magnet direction doesnot depend on these.external factor.

So bird use navigation present in nature like rising of sun from East and sun set in west and in night, direction of polar star and moon.

Now during windy or cloudy night, moon and star are not visible so birds get confused and reached to wrong destination.
