Ans : It very important to identify the organism to provide the subsidary action against the diseases. The micro-organisms can be identified by their size, shape. structure, in case of bacteria identification marks like gram stain techniques can be used to check whether it is gram positive or gram negative. Certain biochemicalactivities are also use to identify the micro-organisms for example nutirition utilization, enzyme productions and resistance to inhibitaroy substances. It is to know that only 10% of the bacterias are pathogenic. Inorder to identify the unknow pathogens samples from patient will collect that may be saliva, mucus, blood, urine or fecus.
