Franklins work results:-

• She used the powerful method of X ray diffraction to analyze DNA fibers.
• x-ray diffraction results showed tht DNA produces a characteristic diffraction pattern.
• This pattern can be used to deduce that DNA molecules are helical.
• And also It contain two periodicitesalong their long axis.
• primary one - 3.4 angstrom and secondary one- 34 angstrom.
• But she was unable to produce a three dimensional model of DNA molecule.

Chargaff's work results:-

• He found that in any DNA their exits three hydrogen bond between G and C and two hydrogen bonds between A and T.
• Base composition of DNA varies for all species.
• DNA specimens obtained from same individual have same DNA base composition.
• The base compositions for a given individual won't vary with age, nutritional status or by environmental factors.
• sum of purine residues equals sum of pyrimidine residues i.e, A+G = T+C
