Small inversion of chromosome 2p results in formation of fusion gene comprising portion of echinoderm microtubule assossiated protein like eml4 gene and alk gene nsclc cells.

3-7 % of nscls are alk positive , 21 known eml 4-alk breakpoint variants exists, rare fusion exists with tgf,klc1,k1kf5b
