Visible light
Photosynthetic organisms use light only under the wavelength of 400 to 700 nanometres. This is called as visible light spectrum. It ranges from vibgyor to red colour. Photosynthetic organisms have mainly chlorophyll in them which is green in colour. But maximum absorption occurs in red colour followed by blue and then green colour. Minimum amount of photosynthesis takes place in green colour and maximum amount takes place in red colour.

If the study of drought and tree canopies were required, which portion of the electromagnetic spectrum would provide most pertinent information for Remote Sensing techniques?
Which of the following is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is adjacent to visible light and shorter in wavelength? 1) a) infrared b) ultraviolet c) microwaves d) gamma rays Imagine you are standing on a planet watching a spaceship fly by at 0.3c. An astronaut on the spaceship shines a flashlight out the back window of the spaceship, so the light is travelling opposite the direction of the spaceship's velocity. How fast do you observe that the light...

EXAM 3: CHAPTER 7 1. Why are photosynthetic organisms also considered autotrophic? What are heterotrophic organisms? How are both autotrophs and heterophs the same when it comes to the use of organic molecules to produce energy? 2. What is the particular part that oxygen plays in photosynthesis and cellular respiration? 3. Describe the structural aspects of photosynthesis. For example, where does photosynthesis take place and what parts inside the cell are used to carry out photosynthesis? What chemicals are necessary...

How can you use electromagnetic waves within the visible spectrum to identify unknown gases?
The extremes of the x-ray portion of the electromagnetic spectrum range from lambda = 1.0 times 10^-8 m to 1.0 times 10^-1.3 m. Find the minimum accelerating voltages required to produce wavelengths at these two extremes. V = For 1.0 times 10^-8 m, Your response is within 10% of the correct value. This may be due to roundoff error, or you could have a mistake in your calculation. Carry out all intermediate results to at least four-digit accuracy to minimize...
