Answer #1

1 gram-mole of NaCl is the sum of the molecular weight of Na (22.99 gram per mole) and Cl which is 35.45 gram per mole. Therefore, it is 58.44 grams per mole of NaCl.

Thus, the Molar mass of NaCl is 58.44 grams

To make 1M NaCl solution we need to dissolve 58.44g of NaCl in 1 liter of distilled water, and .0.5 M means one half of one gram-mole of solid NaCl salt (29.22 grams) dissolved in one liter of pure water.

To prepare 1.5 M NaCl we require (58.44 + 29.22)= 87.66 g in 1 litre of water

Or 87.66 g in 1000 ml of water

We need to prepare 250 ml of 1.5 ml NaCl, thus we will divide it by 4, thus

We need to dissolve 21.915 g in 250 ml of water.
