lysine is a posiitvely charged amino acid at pH 7.

there are three ionizable groups in the lysine NH3+ and COOH and NH3+ in the R chain.

at pH less than 2.17 both NH3+ groups carry posiitve charges and hydrogen is present in the carboxyl group, then after pH 2.17 to pH= 9.04 the the amino acid has a net positive charge of +1, because the COOH group loses the H+ and becomes COO-, so net charge is (+1) +(+1)+ (-1)=+1, then from pH=9.04 to 12.48 the amino group linked to the alpha carbon atom loses H+ so the net charge charge of the amino acid is 0, the lysine has negative charge on the COO group and posiitve charge on the amino group in the R chain.
