Answer #1

GA = Gibberellic acid
It is a growth-promoting phytohormone identified by Kurosawa
It is a terpenoid derivative.
GA is a promoter of seed germination i.e. inhibitor of seed dormancy. GA promotes Seed germination by activating hydrolytic enzymes such as alpha-amylase and mobilize the reserve food materials. This induces the seed germination.

ABA = Abscisic acid
It is a growth-inhibiting phytohormone identified by Stevenick, Wareing, and Addicot.
It is a Carotenoid derivative.
ABA is a promoter of seed dormancy i.e. inhibitor of seed germination. ABA inhibits the overall growth and seed germination. It induces seed dormancy in response to unfavorable environmental conditions.

GA acts antagonistically to ABA. A fine balance between the ABA and GA levels determine the fate of seed (Germination/dormancy) in response to environmental conditions.
