What is the role of fungi in Estuaries?
What adaptations do they have that let them survive in your habitat?
Do they have to compete for resources? How do they compete?
Do they provide any services to your biome/ecosystem that help maintain it?
Fungi absorbs their nutrients from living or dead (plant or animal) organic matter on which the grow.
The role of fungi in estuaries is that they degrade ligno-cellulose efficiently and act as important decomposers in marine ecosystems.
Adaptation- Fungi adapt by increasing the surface area of gills thus producing more spores. Fungi also forms symbiotic association with plants in which fungi receives carbon from plants and the fungi provides complex nutrients to plants n an easily absorbable form.
Fungi compete for resources in several ways. Some fungi produce antibiotics against bacteria which helps them to compete for nutrients and space. Some fungi produce long, slender threads called hyphae which spreads over organic matter and produce enzymes which breaks down food in an easily absorbable form.
Fungi as decomposers are important as they are the cause of nutrients which can be used by members of other kingdom. Thus fungi play a major role in food web.
What is the role of fungi in Estuaries? What adaptations do they have that let them...
There isn't a reading passage for this, it's a research project and these are the questions for it. The ecosystem is Estuaries, and the questions have to of with producers in Estuaries. What is the role of producers in Estuaries? What types of producers are present? What type of adaptations do they have that let them survive in your habitat? Do they have to compete for resources? How do they compete? Do they provide any services to your biome/ecosystem outside...
What type of adaptations do producers have that let them survive in Estuaries?
What type of adaptations do prokaryotes have that allow them to survive in Estuaries?
What human caused factors threaten Estuaries Are there areas for the conservational concern? What is being done to help protect them? What benefits (if any) does your biome/ecosystem provide humanity? Why should we conserve it?
Over the years, humans have discovered that the plants have developed special adaptations that allow them to grow and survive in specific environments and man has used these adaptations for own use. Choose a plant from any of the different phyla you can study and identify a structure or substance that affords it some distinct benefit. Describe what that benefit is and then briefly discuss how humans have used that trait as an asset for themselves?
Exploring Salt Marsh Ecosystems Please answer all questions 1.) What is the difference between spring tides and neap tides in terms of relative tide heights? What regions of the marsh (high, mid, low) are inundated (flooded) with water during the respective high tides (neap vs. spring)? 2.) How does the biodiversity change in different regions of the marsh? How does the frequency and severity of disturbance to each of the regions influence the biodiversity trends you observed? 3.) What natural...
Plant Chemical Adaptations Physical adaptations are one way plants have become well-adapted to specific environmental conditions. For example, cacti have spines in place of leaves to prevent water loss in the arid conditions of the desert, and deciduous trees lose their leaves in the fall to survive cold weather conditions over the winter. Chemical adaptations are another means for plant protection. Many plants produce toxic or noxious compounds to protect themselves from insects or animals that would eat them, to...
1. Where are whale falls found both in the ocean and on the global scale? 2.What are some of the major challenges for organisms living there (i.e. why do only certain organisms survive there)• 3.How do some organisms cope with living there(i.e. special adaptations)• 4.Examples of major organisms that live there including the taxonomic groups (at minimum listed to phylum though some cases may require you to go as low as class)• 5.Besides the large, charismatic organisms everyone loves, your examples...
Discuss what you see as the role of ethics as it pertains to management and managers. Does management, in your view, help shape the values and ethics of an organization? Is employee behavior, ethical or not, a by-product of the organization's ethical climate? What ideally is the manager's role in helping to create and maintain organizational integrity? Using your professional experience as a backdrop, provide examples of managers who have demonstrated ethical behavior (or not) and discuss how this affected...
There is an evidence that mapping mental health systems (MHSs) helps in planning and developing mental health care services for users, families, and other caregivers. Describe the role of Community Behavioral Health Organizations worldwide and in Saudi Arabia specifically; What services do these organizations provide to people with mental and behavioral disorders? How do these organizations make their services accessible to people who need them?
