Many labs no longer offer saliva, urine or fecal testing as a service. There are myriad reasons for this. Consider the wide view of the costs, accreditation, proficiency testing requirements, the legal systems needs, and the "benefit-add" or "return on investment (ROI)" from performing these tests. Should a forensic lab be required to offer these tests in an age of DNA testing? If the lab does not offer them but a private lab can conduct these tests, who should pay?
First lab should be registered in the concerned department. Second lab should have all the facilities available, like manpower, reagents . These tests are less advised by doctors as compared to complete blood cells KFT, LFT. . These test cost about 50 to 100 rupees each.. . Cost of these tests should be devised according to the cost of reagents and instruments used.
No a forensic lab is not required to do these simple tests.
Govt should devise a rate list of these tests. So that patient can afford them at the private lab.
