Assumption 1: Interval between marking and recapturing is very crucial. In this interval, their shouldn’t be any event happed which can disturbed the proportion of marked and unmarked organism. But in real population death and migration will affect the overall all equation of population.

Assumption 2: Animal should not lose their applied marks. But in real population cases, with growth and seasonal variation in phenotype marks can be altered.

Answer: Mark and recapture technique can be applied on a population having small size, organism don’t migrate, high life span, slow birth rate etc. Example of Mark and recapture method: Lion population in a forest, elephant population, tiger population in forest, wild buffalo in a forest. All mentioned organism can’t migrate from their forest.

Answer: Population having migrating organism, high mortality rate, high birth rate, small in size, short life span can’t estimate by using mark recapture method. Examples are Bird population, population of favourite host (dear population), rat population as it has an short life span with high birth rate.
