Name three considerations for a project manager when staffing a project team. Would you rather have people with great technical skills and OK team skills, or people with great team skills and OK technical skills? In your response posts, select posts from students who listed different considerations. In what cases might your list be most appropriate, and in what cases might the other list be most appropriate?
The three considerations for a project manager when staffing a project team would be that Team members should be team oriented who perform exceptionally in team performance. Having team orientation approach reduce the work of project manager and lead to completion of project on time. second consideration a project manager should take is that team member should have right skills and experience working on a project because having the right skill, knowledge and experience help project manager to complete the project at low cost like no training is required, less supervision is required. for example- a project manager for marketing project would not staff employee having account and financial skill and knowledge. Third consideration is that team member should have good communication and personal skills in which they can make sure everything is clear. this is because lack of communication has led many projects to failure.
I think i would prefer people with great team skills and Ok technical skills because a project is not work of an individual. a project requires work and performance of complete team. If team skills are not excellent then there is no use of technical skills. people with excellent team spirit are always ready to share their knowledge and skills with each other but in ok team skills people have more conflicts and not want other members to get ahead.
i think last questions are related to response to other student's discussion post. so you need to post those discussion then response to them.
