Question

As you can see in the graph below, trust in government has declined significantly since the 1960s. Develop THREE reasons accounting for that trend. Provide ONE event or solution which could bring this trend upward and ONE event or solution which could depress trust in government even more. Support your answer by citing:

1. at least one newspaper article or editorial,
2. AND one public opinion poll, OR one academic source, OR book extract.

There are many causes of the loss of faith in people to the government. But most important factor is unemployment problem. Thousands of young boys and girls are unemployed in Unites States. They demand work. It is a major problem that in USA, thousands of immigrants work in multinational companies. Outsourcing is a major problem in USA. The U.S companies hire workers from other countries and by paying comparatively low wages they get their work. Therefore they do not want to employ U.S young boys and girls by paying high wages. Besides, they have no liability to the workers if they hire from other countries or perform the work by outsourcing.

For such reasons, the U.S.A boys and girls demand the stop of immigration. They demand the work for the U.S people only. They think that the U.S Government do not take proper steps to solve the problems. It is also a burning issue in the presidential election.
