Explain how the decline in genetic diversity with distance from Africa supports the Out of Africa hypotheses.
As stated by “Out of Africa” hypothesis, all Homo sapiens living today come from the population living in Africa. The decline in genetic diversity resulting due to distance from Africa is supported by Founder effects. Founder effect is seen when a few members of the original population creates their new colony. The new small size of population has reduced genetic variation in comparison to original one. As the Homo sapiens spread, they met other human species and in due course of time they displaced them. As other human became extinct, they were not available for interbreeding with Homo sapiens. There by bringing decline in genetic diversity.
Explain how the decline in genetic diversity with distance from Africa supports the Out of Africa...
Speculate on how the genetic diversity effects survival of the population, and how genetic diversity could be increased. Are there negative effects of increased heterozygosity? How would we increase genetic diversity in an endangered species, such as the black-footed ferret?
Discuss asexual and sexual reproduction in terms of genetic diversity. How is meiosis-related to genetic diversity.
Explain how heterozygote inferiority can lead to greater genetic diversity among populations. Use the results of Foster et al.’s experiment with fruit flies as an example. (based off of ch6 and 7 of evolutionary analysis 5th edition)
How does nature induce genetic diversity into microorganisms that reproduce asexually?
For each of the following mechanisms (a-h), consider how it will affect genetic diversity (i.e., diversity of alleles) within a population and select one of the following three options that best describes this effect: (i) increase/maintain, (ii) eliminate, or (iii) no effect [No written explanation necessary]. a. Positive frequency dependent selection b. Negative frequency dependent selection c. Selection in favor of a dominant phenotype d. Selection in favor of a recessive phenotype e. Selection favoring heterozygotes over homozygotes f. Mutation...
Explain why genetic diversity is important to maintain in captive populations, and identify ways that zoos can manage captive populations to do so. Explain why it is important to employ ARTS in captively-bred populations before they become too small / too inbred.
1. Explain Workplace/ Workforce diversity 2. Describe How Bell Canada applies diversity - How/why is this diversity relevant to this organization? To this industry? - Provide specific examples to prove your points and demonstrate how the company applies diversity theory These Questions are from Organizational behaviour course

1) Explain how eukaryotic gene expression is controlled from a distance 2) Describe the experiments that showed all differentiated cells contain all the genetic instructions to direct the formation of a complete organism. 3) Explain the structure of tryphtophan operon and how this operon is regulated at the low and high concentration of tryphtophan.
Which of the following statements about hypotheses proposed to explain latitudinal gradients in diversity is FALSE? View Available Hint(s) Hint 1. opened hint Although scientists do not know the exact mechanisms underlying the geographic pattern of species diversity, more than 25 different mechanisms have been proposed. Which of the following statements about hypotheses proposed to explain latitudinal gradients in diversity is FALSE? The Pacific Ocean confounds the hypothesis relating species diversity to latitudinal gradients, as it has higher levels of...
