Answer #1

Answer - Exponential growth is seen when a population per capita growth rate stays the same regardless of the size of the population. It is represented by a J-shaped curve.

Logistic growth is seen when a population per capita growth rate decreases as population size approach the maximum which is imposed by limited resources. It is represented by an S-shaped curve.

Most population exhibit logistic growth because most population carrying capacity fluctuates.

answer both questions please Which of the following is true regarding the comparison between growth of bacterial populations and growth of single-celled eukaryote populations? Bacteria typically grow more slowly than eukaryotes, leading to lower population growth. Bacteria typically grow more quickly than eukaryotes, as eukaryotes have more complex cell structures and components, which leads to slower population growth of eukaryotes. Doubling times in eukaryotic cells are difficult to estimate because they grow so quickly. Bacteria species typically exhibit exponential population...

Using your knowledge of population ecology, discuss how various models of population growth (exponential, logistic, life tables, and age/stage structured models) can be used in community ecology, and discuss the cost/reward of the various models. In other words, how much ‘cost’ is assumed for each model type (inaccuracy, collection effort, complexity), and how does that relate to the ‘reward’ for each model type (accuracy, predictive power,
