In my opinion, Launch readiness of a mail server can be evaluated based on these three components :

• Technical :
  1) Check for performance of the server.
  2) Check the design and documentation of the project.
  3) Prepare technical data sheets.
  4) Prepare yourself for upcoming issues.
  
• Operations :
  1) Required components are ready.
  2) Peripherals and Hardware are in proper working condition.
  3) Tools and Equipment has been evaluated.
  4) Team is prepared for next level development and bug resolving.
  
• Business :
  1) Check for the advantages that you are providing as compared to you competitor.
  2) Check for Investors.
  3) Check the growth aspects of the project.
  4) Prepare a Business model.
