Persuasive leadership style includes being able to influence and persuade others to perform a task as per the leader's decision. Thus the control lies entirely with the leader. He/she makes choices and decisions for the team.
This style of leadership is often applied by NGOs in order to successfully enforce the importance of environmental safety and protection, women and child welfare, financial independence of women, upliftment of poor and against discrimination on basis of caste, creed, religion, gender or nationality. This involves using high convincing powers in order to convince the reluctant individuals as well.
In my personal experience, I had to apply persuasive leadership style to influence my team members to work towards completing a highly time- bound and limited resource available project. No delay or error could be acceptable. This meant monitoring and controlling each and every activity, including the most minute(very small) tasks.
