Are heightened levels of THC in Marijuana causing health issues in our society?

Is this a working operational definition.

This could be considered a pretty good research questions but to turn this into a research study the variables need to operationalized or given operational definitions.

For example, how is level of THC measured and what degree is considered heightened? For the other value, what are you considering health issues and how would you measure or document them.

If you can do that, the question you started with becomes more specific and the research could actually be done. In scientific research, you can't deal in generalities.

Can you help me with some ideas what less generalized statements in the area of first question?

It has been observed that a higher concentrations of THC in Marijuana causes addiction.The more potent a drug is, the stronger the possibility of addiction and the more likely the person will continue to purchase and use the product.The most popular kind of drug test is the urine test, which can detect marijuana for days or weeks after use. Note that urine tests do not detect the psychoactive component in marijuana, THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), and therefore in no way measure impairment; rather, they detect the non-psychoactive marijuana metabolite THC-COOH, which can linger in the body for days and weeks with no impairing effects. Because of THC-COOH’s unusually long elimination time, urine tests are more sensitive to marijuana than other commonly used drugs. According to a survey by Quest Diagnostics, 50% of all drug test positives are for marijuana.

I feel if we have to sum up the issues related to marijuana, i would suggest an addiction is harmful for us. Not only does it make us really weak and inefficient but also unable to anything that really matters. It also impairs us from the over all growth and development which we wish to seek in a long run. Hence there is a need to curb it from all possible aspects of life no matter how far we go and how hard it gets.
