What are transcriptional activators in Eukaryotic cells? Would things such as HAT or HMT be considered transcriptional activators?
transcriptional activators are the the proteins which increase rate of transcription of gene or set of genes. these are proteins which bind to specific DNA sequence which are mostly promoter sites.
HAT or HMT are not consider as transcriptional activators till a last few year but plays important role in gene transcription, recent study gives strong support to HAT and HMT as transcriptional activator but it's transcription activity is not fully/broadly established. ( there is two different stands for HAT and HMT as transcriptional activators in experts but yes we can say that it may consider as transcriptional activators on the basis of recent study)

8. Control of gene expression in eukaryotic cells occurs at which level(s)? A. only the transcriptional level B. epigenetic and transcriptional levels C. epigenetic, transcriptional, and translational levels
In eukaryotic cells, there are specific transcription factors (activators) that regulate gene expression. Describe the organization of eukaryotic genes (i.e. promoters/enhancers) and how transcription factors are able to control gene expression and enzyme activity. a) Throughout the course we discussed the enzyme lactase and how it is differently regulated (and therefore expressed) in different human populations. Describe how this gene is differently expressed in different populations and when this/these change(s) are predicted to have taken place. b) Differential gene expression...
This short RNA (miRNA) is found in eukaryotic cells. miRNAs are post-transcriptional regulators that bind to complementary sequences on target mRNAs, resulting in enhancement of mRNA degradation by nucleases and/or _________. For the study of gene functions, artificial introduction of miRNA (siRNA) is performed to cells or animals. This experimental technique is called gene silencing and or _________, compared to the gene-deleting transgenic techniques. Select one: a. transcriptional repression ;;;; Knock-Down b. translational repression ;;;; Knock-Down c. transcriptional repression ;;;;...

What are the differences between eukaryotic and bacterial transcription? Bacteria can do a unique co-transcriptional translation while eukaryotes normally are not able to. Why is so?

If a eukaryotic organism did not have a functional telomerase, what would you predict to be true about this organism? a reduction in chromosome length in reproductive cells (gametes) production of a larger number of Okazaki fragments than eukaryotes that possess telomerase high sensitivity to sunlight inability to correct DNA mutations a high probability of somatic cells becoming cancerous
