LEADERSHIP AND DECISION MAKING IN OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

11:14 "Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory."
Decision making can't be done at single step it needs to go through multiple stages like core of decision, gathering of actual facts, Identification of alternative decisions, exploring the risk associated with each alternative, reviewing the decision.
Here being a leader it's necessary to pool information from number of subordinate as it's helps in collecting information from base line and it's necessary to discuss the alternative sorted with the subordinates as which helps in picking the most efficient alternative.so plan or strategy done in single hand is less perfect compared to that which is done with group or in collaboration.

16:3 - “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."
Here just planning doesn't make sense you need to be committed to implement the plan at each stage with proper evaluation so that if something goes wrong it can be fixed at right time, which helps in cent percent successful implementation of plan.
So when you make a plan you should put that plan into action at predefined time and at specified budget to reach a goal. Here commitment towards time, cost, goal and performance and review will fetch you a success. So commitment can be considered as a ability of manager or an employee to stick to plan until it gets accomplished in successful manner.
16:9 - “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”
We do make a plan and it is done with conscious mind and situation with predefined intention but the lateral stage of planning are to be undertaken under undefined situations,
we resolve to plan better but in actual It's highly impossible to determine the future, here plan may fail due to financial problem, lack of human resources, economic conditions, social disturbance, ethical dilemma or by natural disaster. So it's always necessary to keep a backup or an alternative plan, if one plan fail we can move with other one.
