Yes, Chinese women entrepreneurs face more obstacles than Chinese men entrepreneur. There reasons behind Chinese women entrepreneurs facing more troubles, problems or obstacles in starting or running their businesses are mentioned below –

• Culture difference – Chinese culture is different for men and women. As per Chinese culture, women have to settle down early in their lives. They do not have much freedom to try and take risks in their lives. As per culture in China, most of the women are housewives and their families do not prefer them to work outside somewhere.
• Job preferences– Chinese women prefer doing job than starting their own business. They prefer working for government or doing some permanent private jobs rather than starting their own business.
• Funding – Various funding agencies are private and they does not trust and give funds to women entrepreneurs. It is highly dominated by male entrepreneurs. Lack of funding creates an obstacle for women entrepreneurs to start their business.
• Physical difference – As per research Women tend to suffer more physical health issues than men which becomes an obstacle for them to run their businesses smoothly.
• Time – Women who have their families are not able to give much time to their business as they have to look after their families as well. It is the culture of China that women look after their houses and men work. So, this mentality becomes obstacle in their way of running business.
• Societal pressure – Women suffers from lot of societal pressure as they are being easily judged. Working women are always judged by society for choosing their business over their family. This kind of societal pressure gives mental pressure to women and some women hesitate to go forward and start working.
• Job security – Women in China wants secure jobs. They are not allowed to take risks or grasp opportunities because there can be loss in that. They prefer to do that kind of work where they feel job security.
• Safety – Working under some company with lot of other female co workers are considered safe rather than starting their own business and dealing with new people every day. Women have more safety concerns than men because outside world is more unsafe for women. They do not want to work in late night hours; they do not want to travel alone because they do not feel safe. This results in loosing various business opportunities.
• Confidence level – As number of women entrepreneurs are less than men and due to various pressures from society, women’s confidence level is generally found low than men in conducting business. This also becomes an obstacle in dealing with people.

Though there are various problems, obstacles and troubles for women entrepreneurs but still in China number of women entrepreneurs are rapidly increasing. Also, they are becoming successful by expanding their business globally. China has various areas where the difference between men and women are not considered now and gender equality is preferred. People are getting educated and development of technology has empowered women. All these actions have helped women to start and run their business successfully.
