The overall effects of US imperialism around the turn of 20th century are as follows:-

1) It benefited the citizens of Imperial Nation by expanding foreign commerce and their by boosting the domestic economies of each Nation.

2) Outputs of nation increased as the foreign trade increased.

3) The volume of Exports became greater than the value of imports thereby increasing the overall wealth of the nation.

4) it also benefited the land on which it had control by improving its buildings , roads , sewers ,health ,education and other things .

5) it increased work opportunities for the natives in their native land.

6) in some cases the Imperial Nations control over a certain land lead to domination, repression, brutality.

Motives of imperialism :-

1) Military :-

Imperial Nations like us wanted their military to explore new territories that were unknown to them .Therefore Imperial explorers had a sense of adventure and competition as this sort to discover, map, claim territory Before any other Imperial competition did partly for the nation and personal glory and partly to serve the imperialist goal of expansion.

2) Economic :-

Imperialism was one of the ways Tu to maximize profits of the Imperial country as economic expansion had lead to access to cheap labour, control of markets ,natural resources such as special metals and land , raw material for the factories and spaces for their warehouses

3) Political :-

Growing Imperial power world countries to compete with each other for supermacy .It became a matter of national Pride, Prestige and security. Political motives were often regarded as responses to perceive threats to the security of prestige of the Imperial power or its citizens abroad.

4) Cultural :-

Imperial Nations believed in the concept of ethnocentrism where one race or nation is believed to be superior to others .Therefore these Nation believe that their cultural values for superior to other Nations and imperial conquest would bring successful culture to inferior people.

1) It was believed that us imperialism violated the credo of republicanism specially the need for consent of the governed.

2) it let to isolation and abandonment of domestic government of the territories in which the control was taken by the Imperial countries.

3) the net benefit to the controlled countries was much less when the resources and Labour extracted from that country
