Exercise is a physical activity which involves burning up of excess or unused calories that are made into body fats. This process increases the metabolism of the body and skeletal muscles undergo rapid oxidation. This oxidation uses substrate material and oxygen to remove carbon di oxide (CO2) and metabolites. There are 3 important sources of energy productions which include ATP. ATP also known as Adenosine TriPhosphate is an important and most commonly used source of energy production.
Exercise has greater influence on one's body than any other physical activity. Much of the activity of exercise focuses on skeletal muscles. Skeletal muscles are the primary source of rapid oxidation of metabolites that are present in the body. Once the muscles have released CO2 it is transferred to the blood along with impurities or metabolites that have been stacked up in the tissues thus making them stronger. Cardiovascular system is widely benefited from the process as burning of excess body fat increases free flow of the blood to heart its distribution avoiding major heart related illnesses. Furthermore immune system is also boosted from exercise.
There are 3 major macronutrients used in production of energy namely Carbohydrates, Proteins and Lipids out of which carbohydrates produce glucose the easily soluble energy production nutrient. Glucose produces 4 calories of energy per gram equal of protein but requires lesser energy. Fats on the other hand produce 9 calories per gram but require more energy. Proteins digested are used to increase the muscle mass and make them more efficient.
