Macrophage are major cells in sites of inflammation after neutrophils..

In order to carry out their function macrophages show endothelial transmigration from blood to the interstitial matrix composed mainly of collagen. . So they release MMPs ( matrix matello proteaes6) to degrade basement membrane and matrix. To secret MMPs the cells show activation of specific tubulin proteins. So in esophagus or in trachea in response to any type of infection there will of activation of macrophages as a result of innate immune response. And here activated macrophages give positive result for localised tubulin.
