Answer #1

Chlorophyll is the most abundant pigment that commonly found in plants, bacteria algae ,and bryophytes , plays a vital role in photosynthesis .chlorophylls are natural pigments and therefore safe environmental friendly easily available and cheap. Chlorophyll has been experimented to function as a photosensitizer in dye-sensitized solar cells. A counter electrode and an electrolyte containing a redox mediator . The dye absorbs light ,which is transformed into electricity .Chlorophyll can be extracted from the leaves of pomegranate ,papaya, spinach.

N719 dye is the ammonium salt of n3 dye with changes to increase cell voltage and solubility in polar solvents comparing with n3 dye ,n719 is also one of the most common high performance dyes that are developed foe DSSC solar cells.n719 dye is an amphiphilic and increased electrostatic binding ontoTIO2 surface at lower pH values. Its increases oxidation potential leading to deeper HOMO energy levels and enhanced stability.

To prepare co-adsorbents can over come the deficiency of n719 absorption in the low wavelength region of the visible spectrum ,offset competitive visible light absorption.
