USA government uses the term Latino for the people of specific origin. Persons of Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South and central America and people of Spanish background culture are considered as Latino in American Culture. Race is not a detrimental factor in the explanation of this term.
They can be of any race or from the combination of races. Many people oppose this term. They say that now a days no such system of distinguishing the group of people exist. They remain against the system of categorizing themselves.
They prefer to call themselves with names. They feel somewhat separated from the normal people when are called by this term. Government officials use the term for their own ease. They use to denote the group of people. They use this term as an Umbrella term under which many people can come together.
They think that it makes them easy to understand and distinguish a set of people. People contest it because of its misleading characteristics. There can not be clear cut criteria for denoting them as Latino without undergoing the tracing back process of generations of a person.
USA is the land of immigrants. It is the land of opportunities. It is the best country in world. It is the place where whole world wants to be. So, people call it as global country and consider such terms a little bit confusing.
