You are attempting to launch your friend into the air using a see-saw: your friend stands on one end, and you will jump on the other, making him shoot up into the air. Where, relative to the center, should your friend stand? Where on the see-saw should you jump to maximize how high he goes?

Answer #1

When I jump on the other side of see saw then angular velocity of each point on the other side will be equal but linear velocity depends upon the distance of pivot..So friend should be stand at the corner of see saw.

To give maximum moment to see saw I should also jump at the maximum distance from pivot since moment of force is proportional to the distance from pivot so I should also jump on the other end of see saw..

Imagine a ball toss with your friend. Your friend stands a few meters away from you and when your friend catches the ball, the catch occurs at approximately the same height at which you let the ball go. In this lab and pre-lab, we will only be concerned with the times during which the ball is in the air (we will ignore the times when the ball is in contact with the thrower’s or catcher’s hands). Draw position, velocity, and...

He wants to know if he actually does this price change, what happens to his revenue (goes up, goes down or stay the same). What is your suggestion to him?
