Rattle snake make their strikes very fast due to their muscles. Their elasticity of muscle helps to strikes at very fast rate so that the prey can't take any response.
The shaker muscle of rattle snake also adapted certain features for their fast strikes.usually fibres are filled fully in shaker muscle. But in rattle snake myofibril brought repeated with one another leaving a gap in sarcoplasm. These space devoid of any filaments and represent a mottled appearence.myofibrils of shaker muscle helps in fast contraction.
Jaws attached to filaments helps to engulf large prey.rattle snake also have sensory pits.another adaptation of rattle snake is its camouflage. Skin cells above the muscle have the capability of change colour according to surrounding.
