Describe 10 best practices for managers to find the right innovation, change, and organizational design to establish a competitive advantage?

Managers plays key role in the organisation to achieve targets in any project. They should certainly possess some qualities and implement through practices to achieve the targets along with organisational growth. Few of them are elaborated as below -

  • Optimistic attitude - People always tend to give more productivity in happy and stress free environment. People want happiness. If team feels happy at work, they tend to put lot of efforts. There should be proper balance between productive time and fun activities. Here manager has to make sure to keep balance work environment in the team. He should not only focus on problems, he should be also focuses on the good things his team is doing. It motivates the team and leads to more hard work from their side.
  • Committed -A manager should be focused on the aim and should constantly work towards it. This will help team to set him as an example and work harder.
  • He should attend his team members - A good manager should be a good listener. He should give reasonable freedom to team to express their views, opinion, suggestions, new ideas, problems, issues etc. He should listen to the team so that there will be more scope for improvement.
  • Generating New Ideas- With listening to his team members, manager should consider the new suggestions and ideas of his team. This might be a new innovation at the business which can create competitive advantage for the company or can save the finance. Along with that, by default he himself should have put the constant efforts to generate the new ideas.
  • Good communication - A manager should be a very good communicator . He should be clear about the project and where he wants to lead it. He should be in position that he can explain it clearly with his team so that the they should put the efforts in the right direction. He should be able to plan a solution to overcome the obstacles in the work area.
  • Being tactful - A Manger should be tactful to handle negative situation at work over any sensitive issues. He should be good negotiator and should have good convincing power.
  • Being Humble towards teammates - A manager should be balance of being strict and being humble. He should not give too much of freedom to his team or should not put too much of restrictions. He should be humble to apologies for his mistake and accept it. This behaviour will make him more real and reliable This will lead team to gain trust on him and put genuine efforts to enhance the quality of work and productivity.
  • Understanding and supportive - Manager should understand the issues of his team and should be supportive to resolve them. This will not make them stuck in problem and work will not impact.
  • Loyalty and integrity - Manager should be loyal about his plan, success, targets or failures. This will help to create transparency at work.
  • Bonding with the team - A good manager always maintain good bond with team. This will create faith in team members to share any issues with the manager. They will understand his thinking and will ask questions to learn in depth.
