There were several causes for the rapid urban migration in the late 19th century. Some of them are listed below

(1) Innovation in technology- There was a rapid technology development in the urban areas which attracted many people to urban areas.

(2) Employment- With an increase in technology, there was a huge requirement for workers to carry out the operations which lead to urban migration.

(3) High Wages- workers were leaving agriculture fields to have high wages in return for their work. Wages were also fixed so it provided them security.

There were many impacts like

(1) Rapid migration- Rapid migration from agriculture fields to urban cities lead to the creation of informal jobs as workers had to find ways for earning.

(2) High Growth- Urbanization also lead to the high growth of the cities as many cities became manufacturing hubs and infrastructure improved to facilitate the trade.

(3) Communication- Communication technology improved rapidly. One of them was transportation which grew rapidly to provide infrastructure to better industrialization.
