1. Theory: This stage involves building a statement of concepts
and their interrelationships that shows how and/or why a phenomenon
occurs.
Hypothesis: A suggested explanation for an observed phenomenon or a
prediction about a relationship among several variables is
provided.
Observation: Information on variables of interest are gathered and
measured, in an established systematic fashion.
Analysis: This stage involves the interpretation of data gathered
through the use of statistical and/or logical reasoning to
determine patterns, relationships or trends.
