1. Are all reactive species free radicals? Describe the properties of superoxide and why superoxide an important reactive species?

2.Is the selectivity of the radical or its lifetime (reactivity) the most relevant for the initiation of oxidative damage? Is this true for superoxide?

3. How are these works relevant in the context of disease pathogenesis?

3. Free radical are involved with the human diseases such as cancer, atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and many others. They can also cause aging due to accumulation of free radical damage.

When free radical formed in the body they started chain reaction in which firstly formed free radical attract an electron from a molecule lead to destabilize it and converting it in to free radical .this reaction repeat again and again. This chain reaction lead to damage and distrupt the whole cell.

It may be lead to cause cell membrane damage which can alter it's selective permeability. It can also damage the structure of the lipid so they become more likely to entrapped into artey .

The Other reason of damage may be oxidative stress which cause by the too much cellular damage and too many free radical .

Oxidative stress involved in the damage of nucleic acid, protein , lipid which can plays a role in the development of many diseases such as macular degeneration, many inflammatory disease like arthritis and lupus, Alzheimer's disease, alcoholism, emphysema , Parkinson's disease, certain cancer.
