The company is certainly wise to monitor employees, as employee monitoring allows a company to monitor employee attitudes and staff engagement with activities associated with the workplace. A company that uses employee monitoring on a computer can calculate performance, track attendance, ensure safety, and gather evidence of working hours.

Since legally employee monitoring is not considered illegal, so the company is not legally doing anything illegal. However, a company's action is been unethical. Especially, if the company tries to check employees' personal email and personal messages.
