All businesses are run with an objective. Business communications are inherently seen as an activity that compliments the business objectives. Business communication can be defined as some kind of an indication internally or externally to the stakeholders to fulfill these objectives. Business communication is made to the audience so as to define the value of the company and also show the vision and future prospects of the company along with certain offerings made by the company. Business Communications affect the company throughout its layers and also provide a perspective on the operations and efficiency of the company. A proper business communication is always made with certain facts and figures along with certain taglines that can enhance the effect of the message that the company or the organization wants to portray. There are majorly three kinds of internal business communications
Oxford business communication which is between the subordinate and the management
Downward business communication which is between the management and the subordinates
Lateral business communication which is across various teams within the organization
For external business communication, these are formal communications through sales
letters, presentations, notices, and promotional messages. All business communications are backed by a purpose that defines the tone and the writing formats.
Good business communication must deliver its objective which can be of many kinds but should be in accordance with the receiver so that the message is clearly delivered and understood without any misleading communication. The role of a good business communication is to provide accurate information so that the reputation of the company is protected and the desired action required from the receiver is initiated. Business communication is also used to set the context for the future and also defines the way an organization treats its stakeholders. The role of business communication is mostly to avoid any discrepancies in messaging and ensuring that it form and instructions requests and notices are sent out in the desired manner. A good business communication also has the responsibility of clearing up the image of the organization and also putting the organization in a professional light. A good business communication also sets up a pattern that defines the organization in the market and achieves a certain brand image for the organization.

It should deliver the message clearly as desired by the company
It should be in in the mode that is preferred by the audience and as per the policy of the company
It should be a formal communication
It should not have usage of terms that can be termed as biased towards any community caste sex or color
It should be specifically addressed
It should be dated
It should be unambiguous
It should be backed by rational whenever necessary

A good business communication is in a kind of format approach with professional language usage and also it is ensured that relevant information is included without any overuse of adjectives and terminology which is slang in nature. The last characteristic that needs to be noted is that all business communications should have the correct annotations as salutations as this is considered as a sign of professionalism.
The effects of a good business communication on sales and business growth are that it sets the right context for the organization. It also helps to set up the right expectations for the customers. It helps to free the messages from any ambiguous claims. The professional touch of business communication helps to set up a professional approach and enhances the brand image. The clarity of business communication enhances the understanding from the viewpoint of the receiver. Good business communication helps to trigger the right action desired by the organization from the receiver which helps to implement its business growth and development. Proper business communication helps to build trust for the organization within the market which increases the probability of association of certain stakeholders from the market with the organization which not only increases business but also increases the network of the organization. This allows for better visibility of the organization in the market. The image of the organization that is created by its business communication assists the organization in approaching the probable customers and clients without any apprehensions as context and the aspiration is already clearly projected from the communication.
To conclude we can safely say that business communication is an integral part of the organization’s portrayal in the outside world. Business communication is a critical part of the organization as it affects the brand of the organization and compliments the business development and growth. Because of this criticality, it is necessary that certain rules and regulations are obtained in the business communications of the organization and proper governance is maintained so that random messages are not thrown out in the market without proper scrutiny which can later prove to be detrimental for the organization. Business communication is an art of how the management sends out messages in the market and get the desired reactions. Business communication has a flavor that defines the perspective of the organization towards its stakeholders and hence it builds up the value of the company over a period of time. It also defines the culture of the company which is seen as a major parameter when customers are associating with the company. With the above aspects it is necessary that all business communications are being taken seriously by the organization and the quality of business communication should be given utmost importance as it mirrors the organization to the outside world.
