What hypothesized cause of aggression did Albert Bandura’s famous Bobo doll experiment investigate and how?
Please respond in narrative paragraphs between 300 and 500 in your own words...
Aggression is created by the negative emotions like anger, frustration, pain and fear.It is a kind of expression to display one's sadness or unhappiness.Children generally imitate adult's behaviour be it aggressive or non-aggressive.To prove this,Albert Bandura performed an experiment named Bobo doll experiment. In this, three groups were made(aggressive, non agressive and no model) .These groups were then divided by gender into six subgroups.
when adults hit the doll with hammer, children saw it imitated the same when kept in other room with toys alone.Incase of female who watched female adults the verbal aggression was more than the physical aggression and who watched male adults physical aggression was more .While male were more inspired by the male adults than female adults.Whereas the children who were exposed to non agressive and no model were non agressive or no model.
For instance,if a kid draws something on wall with crayons and his parents scold him for that.Next day when his younger sister tries to draw on his book,he scolds her.Because from previous incident he understood that he can scold his sister who is drawing on the paper. Now just look at the same incident with non aggression behaviour. When the boy's parents found him painting on wall and they simply ask him politely to draw on a paper instead of ruining wall.Next day,he also asks his sister politely to not to draw on his notebook .
So adults should always watch their action before children. They imitate what they see.Children who are watching violence tend to be more aggressive physically and verbally.
