Soft inheritance term coined by Ernst Mayr. It means that environmental condition may brings changes in genetic materials and this information is passed to future generations. It consider the " use and disuse of organs theory". Hard inheritance means that environmental conditions can not be stored in genetic materials hence, can not be passed to offspring.
