Na- H+ membrane protein is an antiporter protein. It transports Na in to the cell and transports H+ ions out. They are present in many cells, especially in kidney tubules.It is responsible primarily in maintaining pH and Na in the cells.

Research indicates that the depolarization of the membrane has no effect on the Na- H+ exchange across the membrane. The pump, electroneutrally exchanges H+ and Na across the membrane. That is why the effect of depolarization on the exchanger is not observed.
