Functions of the operating system
Process Management - It keeps the record of the process like which processes are currently executing, which may execute in future time and which process is kept to be on hold.
Memory Management - It keeps the track of memory like allocating memory, freeing the allocated memory, reading from the disk, managing cache.
Device Management - It keeps track of hardware devices that are attached to the system, how they are interacting and what type of device they are.
Security - It prevents the system from unknown bugs, threats, malware and viruses and reports to the user.
File Management - It manages files that are stored on the disk, reading writing, copying, deleting.
